What we are looking for:

We are looking for our next team member who wants to contribute to making a difference for students in Pinellas County. Our mission only happens when we have great talent working collaboratively. This position is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of donors who have committed to the Foundation through estate planning, including bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. This position currently has no supervisory responsibility but works closely with support personnel as needed to implement and coordinate planned giving fundraising strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a key member of the Development team in planning fundraising strategies and developing procedures for meeting the department’s objectives.
  • Work with the Chief Development Officer to develop and execute a comprehensive planned giving strategy aimed at motivating donors to significantly increase the number and size of planned gifts.
  • Identify, market, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospects with the capacity to make planned gifts.
  • Steward and grow a portfolio of donors who have committed to the Foundation through estate planning, including bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
  • Conduct donor meetings, presentations, and events to educate, market, and engage prospects about planned giving options.
  • Integrate planned giving strategies into the Foundation’s fundraising efforts in collaboration with team members, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and track progress using Raiser’s Edge, donor management system.
  • Collaborate with the Communications department to utilize multi-channel marketing strategies to reach current and prospective donors.
  • Manage incoming planned giving inquiries in collaboration with Foundation team members.
  • Provide reports of updates and activities toward development goals.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated success in identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of planned gifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter attitude, capable of driving initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • SharePoint experience

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required-Combination or education and equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
  • CFRE preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in planned giving, major gifts or related fundraising roles
  • Experience with fundraising databases, preferably Raiser’s Edge.

Work Environment:

This position works out of our Largo office. Traveling to and attending occasional morning, afternoon, night, or weekend events will be required.
